About me
Hello, I’m Gab!
I’m a medical student at the University of Nevada with interests in aging, perioperative care, health outcomes, and public health research. I grew up in Silang, Cavite in the Philippines and Las Vegas, Nevada. My path in medicine is driven by a deep interest in how science, data, and clinical practice come together to improve the way we care for patients.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California’s School of Gerontology and completed a master’s in Biomedical Science at Loyola University Chicago. My research has focused on aging and health outcomes, spanning bench, clinical, and translational work in neurodegenerative disease, as well as more recent observational studies on opioid mortality and pediatric firearm-related injuries. I’m eager to eventually expand into clinical trials—particularly in perioperative outcomes—and am actively seeking opportunities to grow in that area.
Outside of medicine, I play the alto saxophone, collect vinyl records, fence recreationally, and enjoy photography and gastronomy. I’m also an unapologetic fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, USC Trojan football, and Formula 1. You can learn more about the passions that keep me grounded on my Beyond the White Coat page.
